The 'E' Word.

WHEN I WOULD HEAR somebody referred to as an Entrepreneur I would imagine someone with crazy ideas and schemes. I didn't understand what a true Entrepreneur was until my father became one. More than 20 years ago my dad did something I never thought he'd do in a million years, mortgage our family home to go into business for himself. WOW this was huge!!!! My dad had been a salesman all of his life. Books, pens, key chains, beauty supplies, you name it he sold it. If there was a guy who could sell ice to Eskimos it was my father and they'd thank him and come back for more. Given his natural gifts for selling he always worked but always for others. I don't know exactly what happened to make him want to strike out on his own. I can only guess from my own experience that it was the desire all of us have but only a few act on. It start's in your belly and won't go away. It pulls you into motion and dictates your actions unlike anything you've ever felt before. The desire to do more and to be more is strong. Not only for you but for your family. Regardless of the his reasons dad decided, along with my mother, to take the biggest financial risk of their lives and open his own business. This single act of courage had a major effect on him, our family and especially me. Mind you he was 50 years old at the time. Talk about leading by example. My fathers act of courage showed me that anything is possible as long as you have passion for what you're doing and open to taking risks. To this day my father says to me, “If you love what you're doing the money will follow.” He is right. My father is 72 years old now and his Commercial Mortgage business is very successful and provides both him and my mother with a great sense of pride. (Here's the shameless plug) If you want to finance or refinance your gas station(s) my dad's the guy to call. He'll never stop. I don't know many Entrepreneurs who would. Because of what my father did I felt confident enough to leave a very successful run at Hugo Boss selling and styling mens and women's clothing to start my own company, 're-dress Every day'. Taking my talent as a Clothing Stylist and starting my own company was the best decision I ever made. Is it hard, absolutely. Is it exciting, you bet your ass! The doors that have opened for me never would have if I hadn't gone down this road. I'm very lucky to have had and continue to have an example like my father to show me the way. Because of him and others like him in my life I have a very clear vision for 're-dress Every day' :

  • To help every Real Estate and Financial Services Professional along with every Entrepreneur to use my system for styling their business clothing.

  • To help business professionals understand that Style is personal and can be created from the ground up, Fashion isn't scary and doesn't require a Platinum Amex and that both are needed to finish and polish the image you've been creating for years.

  • That your Business Wear can and should work for you every day.

This is what I'm passionate about.  This is what I love to do and this what I'll continue to do for as long as people want me to come into their closets, boardrooms and lives. Lastly, I'm so grateful to have people in my life like my father who understand what it means to be an Entrepreneur. I wish for you the same thing.
